D. PEDRO ZUBIAGUIRRE founder MOYUA BUILDINGS , has been awarded this year's " BIEBA ASCOBI - 2013 " award in recognition of his career , from the hands of the Association of Builders and Developers of Vizcaya in the Basque Country.

The event took place at the Euskalduna Bilbao Center, in an emotional ceremony in which he was also awarded the Mayor of Bilbao, D. Iñaki Azkuna , who has leaded the transformation experienced by Bilbao in recent years .

With over 50 years of professional life, D. PEDRO ZUBIAGUIRRE, has led his company to participate in the construction of major infrastructure projects in the Basque Country . It is noteworthy in its path its innovation in maritime works , substituting in the construction of levees traditional concrete blocks by blocks of limestone. The innovation is based on the fact that the limestone blocks being a waste on ornamental stone quarries have higher density than concrete blocks . Your job is a great environmental solution and significant financial savings since, because of its lower weight, require less investment in cranes, transport and media work.

The Vizcaya´s General Deputy, D. Jose Luis Bilbao, in his closing remarks stressed the commitment of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia in the creation of new infrastructure , said , will result in the generation of employment and economic activity and help improve the quality of life for everyone in Vizcaya.

This is not the first award that D. PEDRO ZUBIAGUIRRE has received, because in 2003 the Basque Government awarded the Joxe Mari Korta award in recognition of a career commitment to the development and implementation of successful projects that have marked its sphere of influence.
